Are you the church, or are you the lost sheep?

Recently, I had a brief discussion with certain young, zealous, God fearing men. We shared views on whether the places of worship, churches so to say should be open or whether they should remain closed.

Are you the church, or are you the lost sheep?

One young man had this to say, "I think it’s time for people to strengthen their spiritual being individually in times of oppression. Maybe the Lord intended that churches be closed so that people can grow individually.” The other gentleman said, “let the government do what it wants, as long as i am the church, i don’t care." I then informed the latter that his thought would render the scripture in (Hebrews 10:25) telling us not to give up the habit of gathering together useless. Did God waste ink when He put those words down? Now, there are so many Christians who might agree with him and are even okay with the current 200 people allowed in places of worship which constantly leaves me asking myself, “are we the church or are we the lost sheep?”

Well, for those of us not familiar with biblical parables, (Matthew 18:10-14) speaks of the presence of the 99 sheep who closely follow the directions or instructions of the shepherd, the shepherd loves them so dearly and as such instructs them on where to get almost all pleasures of life as sheep, but then there is this one sheep that strays away from the instructions and directions of the shepherd, if we could role play.

The shepherd has told us to worship Him with songs, sing praises to Him, dance, use all instruments of praise to praise Him, refrain from giving up the habit of meeting together, be united, rejoice and again rejoice as well as make merry among others. However, some of us have instead chosen to sit down in groups and legislate that places of worship should be allowed only 200 people. Additionally, the musicians or worshippers should wear face masks, the congregants should refrain from greeting one another in love among others but is that what the shepherd told us? If not, are you the church or you are the lost sheep?

Prophet Elvis Mbonye on 27th September 2021 stated that secularism is the faith people get when they lose their faith. It's actually truth to say that a number of people have lost their faith in the Lord for faith in science and in the vaccines. Let’s not be clad in secularism.

Let’s forget all we have been taught and told in this time and lets just do as the Lord tells us. In times past, the Lord spoke to His people through His Prophets. He still does, He speaks to us through his servants the Prophets, and we have Prophet Elvis Mbonye, one with an unmatched record of prophetic fulfillments. We ought to listen to him in such times for direction especially now that part of the church is surely the lost sheep.

Are you the church, or are you the lost sheep?
