THE JEWEL OF TOORO FROM THE PEARL OF AFRICA

Just being a woman is God’s gift that all of us must appreciate. The origin of a child is a mother and is a woman.

THE JEWEL OF TOORO FROM THE PEARL OF AFRICA

She shows a man what sharing, caring and loving is all about.  That is the essence of a woman. – Shushmita Sen (India –Miss Universe 1994)

Why do we have Beauty Pageants?

The purpose of beauty pageants is to find one’s strengths, personality, and confidence and raise self-esteem so as to bring hope to people that it is possible to have beauty and brains and more so, one can be themselves while doing what they love.

Beauty pageants empower women individually and as a group. They bring happiness and pride to every country mainly through the victories at international pageants.

Each culture in different countries get to be represented. It is easier to advocate for protection of the environment, for children and so much more as a winner of a beauty pageant.

Pearl of Africa, Uganda

Indeed being the pearl of Africa, there originates a jewel from Tooro Kingdom, Patricia Mbabazi. A student at Victoria University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies and an entrepreneur who helps teenage mums achieve their dreams and goals.

Having a heart for people, she chose to join the Miss Eco Tourism pageant to address the challenges facing slums and advocate for their development. These challenges include; poor work management, poor housing and poor drainage, etc.

She also loves the diversity within her country and Africa at large. She is a proud of her culture and always passionate about sharing its beauty with the world. She loves the community and working with its people.

Uganda is surely the Pearl of Africa, it not only produced a beautiful but an intelligent, outgoing, glorious jewel from the Tooro Kingdom.

It is the pride of the country to showcase its diversity to the world through a well-deserved individual whom we call an ambassador.

Congratulations from the fraternity of the National Christian Students Association to you Jewel of Tooro.
